What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that can correct crooked teeth and malocclusions (bad bites). However, instead of pulling your teeth into proper alignment with metal brackets and wires, Invisalign uses gradual force to shift your teeth into position through clear aligners.

Clear aligners are removable orthodontic appliances that correct misalignment in a similar way as braces. The primary difference is that clear aligners are transparent and mold to the shape of your teeth, so others can’t tell when you’re wearing them. 

You can remove clear aligners to brush, floss, eat, and drink, which allows you discretion with your orthodontic treatment.

What can I expect from the Invisalign process?

To create your custom-made clear aligners, Dr. Siddiqui takes digital impressions of your teeth. He uploads these impressions into Invisalign’s proprietary software to create your individualized treatment plan. Once complete, he sends the plan to the Invisalign lab to make your aligners.

Every 1-2 weeks, you receive a new set of clear aligners. It’s important to wear Invisalign for at least 22 hours a day, taking your aligners out only to eat, drink, and care for your teeth. To keep Invisalign in good condition, rinse your clear aligners before placing them back in your mouth.
